Do you have pastureland with deep, well-drained silt-loam or sandy loam soil where you would like to grow chestnuts for our breeding program? Someone has to be on-site at all times to care for and protect the trees from deer, etc., and cooperators must sign a Germplasm Agreement that acknowledges that The American Chestnut Foundation retains ownership and control over the trees. If you'd like to participate in this way, CLICK HERE to register! Additional Questions and Concerns may be directed to Paul Sisco (828) 281-0047 Please note: these files are in PDF format. We collect and record all American Chestnut trees! Do you know the location of a flowering American chestnut tree that we could use in the chapter breeding program? If so, please send a leaf and twig sample to the Asheville Office, along with our CHESTNUT IDENTIFICATION FORM to verify it. We will then send you a locator form to fill out for our records.
